Dr.David Groat DDS

Dr. David A. Groat, D.D.S. grew up enjoying the dental field. With his father, Dr. Albert A. Groat, D.D.S., as a prominent dentist in the Bay Area, he grew up understanding the dental business and the patient's needs. He was born and raised in Fremont, California and while attending Bellarmine College Preparatory he worked at his father's office in Fremont as a dental assistant. He later attended Santa Clara University for his undergraduate. Dr. Groat then graduates in 1985 from Creighton University Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska where he met his loving wife of 40 years, Terri Groat. Shortly after graduation, he co-authored "The Role of Dental Disease in Fever of Unknown Origin" which was published in Postgraduate Medicine. He later moved back to California and took over his father's practice in Fremont and started his own practice in San Ramon in 1992. While managing both practices, Dr Groat had two wonderful children, Elizabeth and Patrick, and was well known pillar in the community. He was the Financial Secretary for the Knights of Columbus for 11 years while living in Pleasanton. He continues to be a part of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Joaquin Dental Society.

He has now moved his practice and family up to the magnificent Calaveras County. He took over the late Dr. Talbot DDS, practice in 2007 and loves being your neighborhood dentist. He currently enjoys walking his dog, Cody, with his wife, Terri, in Forest Meadows, golfing with his son, Patrick, on the weekends, and visiting his daughter, Elizabeth, in New York City. Come share his passion for dentistry in Angels Camp.
